Cooley , Rockford, Michigan

Several years ago I acquired a 12 pane window sash - made @ 1900 - that had rough sawn shipping strips. One of the strips was stenciled with "Cooley & Son, Rochford, Mich.". I have been unable to find much in Rockford, only one Stop light in town.

I have found that a Cooley Harness Shop was in Rockford from 1913 to 1917. From old newspaper obits I know the Cooley Family was very active in the Rockford Baptist Church (records lost in fire).

The sash was never painted. It now has a coat of Minwax and Whitetail Deer photos in each pane, hanging on the wall at Deer Camp.
